Alagar Hills

Resting beneath a naval tree, Avvaiyar meets a boy who asks whether she wants hot fruit or cold fruit. When she blows dust from the fallen fruit, he asks whether it is too hot. The playful question opens her eyes to the wisdom beyond her learning: the child is Murugan. Here the revered poet receives a lesson in humility through the Lord’s gentle play.
Pazhamudircholai belongs to Murugan’s six sacred abodes. The standing Lord gives darshan with Valli and Deivanai. The grove, the vel and the naval tree are central to the shrine’s devotional identity; its significance does not depend on the scale of its buildings.

Allow a separate uphill journey from Alagar Kovil. Confirm hill-road access and the return transport before starting; do not extend the visit into an unplanned forest walk.
