This is a modern patriotic memorial in temple form. Instead of a conventional deity image, its focus is a marble relief map. Its story belongs to the independence movement rather than an ancient sthala puranam.
Shiv Prasad Gupta created the temple, which Mahatma Gandhi inaugurated in 1936. Read its representation of pre-independence geography in that historical context, not as a map of current national borders.
