Chandra’s preference for Rohini brings Daksha’s curse. Directed to worship Shiva at Prabhas, Chandra receives relief; the Lord is revered as Somnath, Lord of Soma. The sacred account binds the shrine to the moon and to Prabhas.
Follow the relationship of the sanctum, assembly hall and dance hall, then take in the shore setting from permitted areas. The present temple was consecrated on 11 May 1951. The nearby Ahilyabai temple is another part of the place’s continuing worship.
